I did a little reading on the net about surfing and feel better about my boat. There is much more to it than I realized. If my skills... well if I had any skills I wouldn't have been dumped and probably could have kept the boat straighter. Plus surfing was never a design goal and here would just been when you got caught in a bad storm. We just don't have the waves to surf here.
One thing I did learn is that my modified Baidarka stern lifts the back of the boat really well and keeps the waves from flooding over the back deck of the boat. I was wondering as low it was if that would be an issue but not the case.
Bottom line is I like this boat!
