Hi,
I'm about ready to start planning my second Yost SOF boat (should be covering the first, a Sea Cruiser, tomorrow). I'm using PVC for this one, but would like to try ballistic nylon newt time, for a more rugged boat (FYI most of the lakes I paddle are dammed so have submerged trees, rocks, etc). I'm impressed by John's Shaman Kayaks durability, using ballistic nylon and polyeurethane.
Firstly, where do I get ballistic nylon? What sort of suppliers should I look for - out here in Oz? Same places that sell PVC or something specific? Any Aussies here know a good supplier?
Secondly, the polyeurethane. Any particular type, or just 2-part (or is 1-part OK) from a marine chandlery?
Thanks, I'm all new to this (but plan to be an acomplished SOF frame builder one day!).
Regards,
Darren
