Strip: foot braces

I finished my expedition single this morn and put it in the water and it was really nice. But,The adjustable foot braces are adjusted all the way forward and just fits but snug with no more adjustment.I used the studs bonded to the inside of hull.Can I safely cut them off the hull so I can get more adjustment or should I live with it?
