Hi Craig,
They are very handy hats, I have one but didn't know the name of them. I use mine mostly for cycling my recumbent trike. Mainly for the peak which is wider than a baseball hat. The frill helps with cooling as well.
Which reminds me that I have to replace the elastic bit, the only thing keeping it on my head is the cycle helmet.
At least it doesn't sink fast when it gets blown off when kayaking.
