Yeah, Dan, how would anyone extract the copper anyway? It's epoxied in there, isn't it? Or are you supposed to snip one end, and pull like hell on the other? We left ours in there, clipped close, and smeared some more wood floured epoxy around. Figured any remaining copper would get sanded down with the filler. That and she wants this hull painted rather than varnished...

: When I built my S&G, I left the stitching in place. Just snipped off the
: copper wire flush with the exterior of the panel, sanded it if needed, to
: make it smooth, and fiberglassed over that. You end up with a copper
: accent in each hole. Looks a bit like a small brad head. I like the look.
