Sanding epoxy and fiberglass is a mess. Far faster and neater is to use a heat gun to soften the material, and a putty knife to separate it from the wood.
What is left behind is easily smoothed with very light sanding, and you are ready to redo your glassing.
With a heat gun you remove large areas of resin and fabric in a hurry, and you won't affect the wood. Plus, there is no dust cloud to inhale. Even so, I'd wear a respirator when removing any glass. No sense geting small bits in your lungs--they won't come out.
