So far I've built two, both using exterior grade WBP ('weather and boil proof') ply - not marine grade - which I checked for voids along the edges, both when bought and when I'd cut the panels out. Mine are skinned in glass inside and out. I've had no problems at all, and don't expect any - the wood does not get wet.

I'm in the UK, not sure whether WBP exists as a grade elsewhere, but bet there's some kind of equivalent.
