Yo Ian in Christchurch

Pete in Wellington here. I built a guillemot expedition single and without serious use of a heat gun the strips naturally follow the natural curve. Screws without heat gunning just made a big hole.

I had glued my strips and noticed that the hourglass was pretty poor. So I just heatgunned it until the glue melted and re stapled. So I have the wine glass and some scorch marks to show for my efforts. At the end of the day the expedition is a bit squirrelly for some and for NZ conditions you might ponder fitting a rudder or a skeg box to lock into some serious chop surfing .. in which case not having the hourglassing won't be an issue.

That could save a bunch of screw holes and scorch marks

Cheers Pete
