I am still working on setting up my main squeeze's garage for boat building. I think I will use your setup as a model for my plans. This, of course, implies I will do everything within my power to keep a happy girl happy. Got to make sure I have a secured location for feeding my habit, eh! You have confirmed my feeling that using bead-and-cove to joint the strips is a lot of work and that it can be done easier. I have always preferred using the bevelling technique to get a more solid joint. Once I get my S&G NH outta the way, I will move my strongback (internal...sigh!) over to Linda's house and get my newly build workbench (a wee bit high for building but I still own my saws *wink*) set up for the NH strip project. I just bought the plans for a Cirrus LT as well. I love to have a queque of projects waiting in case I get bored and find myself twittering my thumbs for lack of something to do. Recently, Tony asked when I was gonna pop by again. I will have to talk to Linda about driving down with a couple of kayaks tied to the roof. I really wanted to get on the Gulf last time but understand the timing wasn't the best. Next time, the timing will be ideal, eh!
Hey, I was thinking...why don't you combine your love of kayak building with your love of airplanes and design/build the world's first aerokayak. For those days when the waves are high and you just don't wanna deal with all that bracing and rolling, you could just ride off the top of a wave, catch a stiff breeze, fire up the prop (bow mounted) and do a little bit of loop-de-loop playing. Just a thought.
