Hi John,
I like to use as little as possible. There is weight gained from a big end pour. All you should try to do is cover where the hole in the end is. If you built with inner stems determine about how thick they are and bore just clear of them. If you used no inner stem I like to use about 1 inch clear of the outer stem. Keeping the hole close you should be able to make the end pour with about 4 oz. My favorite method is to use soft wood carved to fit inside the ends before the two halves are joined. However you may be well past that point. Good luck with it and be sure to post pictures we would love to see it.
