I have used the PC RO sanders both professionally in a commercial cabinet shop and heavily in my own shop, and they hold up very well. They are pretty easily serviced. With heavy use the drive belts go bad, but they're ninety-five cents and easy to replace. There is also a stationary pulley inside that wears out, but you can loosen the screw and rotate it at least two times before you need to replace it, but the only cost $1.95. The innards of the sanders haven't changed in 10 years.

The dust collection is fair even with a shop vac, and I've found the stick-on pads to be a pain. If you upgrade to Mirka Abranet mesh disks you can really improve dust collection, but you can only use them if you have hook+loop. That model doesn't list that it has soft-start, where the motor starts from 0 when you push the trigger, and then spins the rpm up to operating speed, and to me that's a lot more important than how fast it stops running when you shut it off.

I am currently using the big Bosch 2-handed sander. THe dust collection is very much better, and it is literally dustless with abranet discs. I like using two hands because I get better control, but the shape of the new PC really changes the center of gravity compared to the older models, so I would guess that if you like going one-handed it would drastically reduce the tendency for the torque to twist the sander up on edge and putting gouges in your work.
