Yeah, I'm thinking I might have to go in with a chisel and tap out the globs, as they really seem to fill in the gap between the ply and the proud section of the sheer clamp. I would begin to hit the globs with a plane pretty quickly, long before I'd begin to achieve the bevel.

: I certainly wouldn't use my good plane. The shear clamp should be proud of
: the side and you can plane until you start contacting the glue globs and
: then either scrape them out or use a belt sander (carefully). Or just use
: a surform or rasp or something like that.
