I too have a converted 4x8 utility trailer with an extended (actually replaced) tongue. Mine is one of those built in the Ozarks of all angle iron, pretty strong, though a tad crude. I added Yakima risers and crossbars for support, and will hull risers (carries the boats on their sides) can easily carry 4.
Only problem is now I have too many boats and need to add a second tier
