: Nice photo set. What are the cutouts on the back deck?

They are probably just the way Nick designed it in case someone wanted to dye the wood and have it look kinda neat. I won't be dying anything...plan on eventually having it painted a medium metallic sapphire blue using automotive paint. That does, of course, mean I have to get the pre-painted surface absolutely perfect or any flaws will show badly.
