: After a year or more I wanted to replace the seal on my hatches. When I tried
: to remove the seal it left the thin clear plastic strip that the glue is
: stuck to. I tried to use "Goof Off" without much success. I have

Yep, razor blade. The adhesive is done very much like double sided scotch tape, with a film that carries the adhesive. Have to use care to remove this before you re-apply the new gasket material.
