S&G: Coaming Height - How high is too high?

Well, no matter how many times I watch The New Yankee Workshop I still sometimes forget to measure twice and cut once. After deciding that the coaming rim should be 3/4" above the deck and thinking a strip of 3/4" masking tape around the coaming would set the perfect marker for cutting - I put a strip of 1" tape around the coaming and cut. Now that the rim is set it's obviously a little high, but I'm not sure many others would notice. Cutting it again may affect how the rim (already done/not attached) fits so I'm a little hesitant to mess with it. So now the coaming is 1" with a 1/4" rim above that.

Should I go ahead and cut it again or leave it alone? Don't really see a lot of rolling in my future, mostly lakes and rivers. If I do cut it, would 3/4" be the right height anyway?

Thanks,

Steve
