Good thread, and good comments. I've about decided to build a Sea Rider multi-chine. Had previously liked the multi-chined Sea Dart, but it may be too much volume. And, had previously said the Sea Rider might have too little freeboard, even though I'm a lightweight guy. I have realized that I could easily raise the rear of the combing a half inch by increasing the height of the rear cockpit bulkhead (and maybe the next), and getting a bit of angle on the deck, similar, but much less than the front deck. This would also add 1/2 inch of clearance through the bulkhead. I have further considered your point about strengthening the bulkhead for sitting, etc. With leftover glass mat and resin, I could add strength without losing space through the bulkhead. Also, the multichined Sea Rider has a 24-inch cockpit opening -- still small coming from 30 or so inch cockpits, but 2 inches longer than the standard Sea Rider.
