At the risk of 'beating a dead horse'...... If I change length and width then how do I know which one caused the changes I see?? Answer = I DON'T.

This exercise was not about designing a practical boat. This is about practical engineering and education. You can not change two things at once and know what effect only one of them had on the hull. So you change one item at a time and learn what happens.

I wanted to know what happens when a boat gets longer and I now know exactly what to expect and I have this data to refer to latter if I want to examine more, like how the length changed effected the stability.

If I had changed any other parameter (like width) then I am not comparing the same boat, it's a new design and the data on differntlengths would be meaningless.
