: Personally I prefer a leeboard because it can get more leverage than the
: skeg, and you can tack much better. The skegs are always there and will
: slow you down and make tacking difficult. The leeboard is only used on the
: side needed and only when needed. Another option would be a large
: daggerboard which would have a similar advantage to the leeboard but could
: be raised and lowered to tailor to wind speed and direction. When running
: you would put it all the way up, and when reaching you would drop it down.
