: Ken, how would you get pressure points on the sides of your thighs?

The boat that taught me this is an old wildwater racing boat with a cobbled together foam seat and rather long foam hip braces. Whitewater boats usually have more comprehensive and close fitting outfitting. A wildwater (or downriver) boat is relatively long and narrow with little rocker and, while it is 'kinda like' a sea kayak or ICF K1, it is raced on whitewater and usually outfitted whitewater style. I kept whacking away at the seat with little effect on the numbness, but when I finally got around to cutting back the thigh braces, which were only maybe 2" too long, that did it.

I didn't mean to imply that this is a common problem, but because of that an errant piece of foam or other cockpit whatsit in that area could easily be overlooked.
