While this topic is active, I have a related question. I have Captain's Zspar on my boat. It is fine, except is seems very prone to white scratches, especially where I accidentally whack the deck with the edge of my fiberglass paddle. Is there any varnish that is more resistant to these white scratches? I am due for a re-varnish in the fall, after the bugs go away.

I was out with a friend in an Epic kayak, the previous owner of that boat had covered the "paddle whack prone areas" in front of the cockpit with clear contact paper. I am considering that as another option to protect that area.
