: Table saw is statistically the most dangerous power tool, so I am told. But I
: have felt that was probably because there are more table saws in the
: garages than any other power tool.
: After my kickback and mangled thumb I have paid more attention and I have
: changed my mind. The table saw has one nasty side that most other tools in
: the shop don't and that is kickback. I think that makes is more dangerous.
: not dangerous if you know what you doing though. But hurling parts at you
: at close to 100 mph is not fun. RAS and CMS can do the same but it will
: send it away from you usually. Of course it could ricochet.
: Most other tools don't have that bad habit. Of course I am still have more
: respect for my chisels than anything. They will shave hair and one slip
: and your going to cut your finger right to the bone!
Thin work also tends to climb the blade on a table saw, something that doesn't happen on other saws. Worse if the blade gets resin buildup on it which tends to happen alot cutting softwoods that we happen to cut.
Biggest problem I think is cheap underpowered table saws with the stock blades that are usually not kept sharp. (not saying that yours is like this)
