I made the horn a bit stubbier than the original. I had visions of a broken floppy piece of wood. I forgot to mortise the top of the gunwal to accomidate the bow plates - thus the bump at the top of the gunwal partway between the bow and the first cockpit. This photo makes it far more obvious than it is.

The skin is 15 oz Nylon from George Dyson. The finish is a Spar Urethene with powdered pigment added at random to small batches while I applied the finish. I sewed the skin dry (finger tight) than soaked it. After it dried I then wetted the deck and hit it with an iron. No slack yet!
