I chose this because Tom designed it as a rolling specific boat. I'd have been fine with a Nikumi 19, but Tom was looking for someone to build the prototype, and I thought "why not?"

The stitching is straight from lots of practice, but also by following the center stringer very carefully. The skinboat school has some good videos on how to do this - google them.

I paddled it again, tonight. And rolled it a few dozen times - it's great, and easy as pie to roll, and scull on its side. I'm very, very happy with the way the boat fits, paddles (so far) and rolls. I haven't paddled a Nikumi, so I can't compare . . . .
