I had the same requirement. I had very light coloered wood and was not interested in having it be amber colored from the varnish. I used Interlux Perfection varnish. It was totally clear - no tint at all. A little tricky to apply (it is a 2 part finish) and the most expensive varnish I have used. But very clear and very glossy.
