: Hi all-
: I am just finishing a Greenland paddle and thinking about finishing it with
: an oil. I see that some people use Danish oil and others use Tung. I've
: used neither in the past and was curious what the properties of these two
: oils are and if there are big differences when it comes to being used on
: paddles?

: Thanks in advance.

I've recently been using both. I use Watco oil because it seems to penitrate to a deeper depth in the wood, though gives a kinda hard finish, and complete the coating with tung oil because I feel it's got a nice "soft" feel to it.

This combination for me seems to last much longer than using tung oil alone.
