Hi Rob,

A couple of years ago I looked for a water proof camera but couldn't afford one with a 12 power for long distance close ups. I bought a Panasonic Lumix CMC FZ5 (not waterproof) on the internet for $185 w/shipping and a water tight Otter box with plucking foam to embed the camera in for shock proofing. And using Photoshop that I already had I get the eqequivalent of a very expensive camera.

The top photo is taken at high resolution 12 power, so that gives you an idea of how far away the ducks were. All I could see was some movement in the water when I snapped the picture. Then I cropped the photo in Photoshop 7 that I already had, and blew it up for the bottom picture.
