: Hi,
: I know I've seen posts about adding skegs to Night Herons, but can't find
: them at present.
: I'd be interested to know where it should be placed - i.e distance from the
: stern, or at a particular form location - for optimal performance.
: My NH will have a light layup, and be used as a dayboat/general boat rather
: than a heavy expedition boat, so given it will be light and I paddle in a
: windy bay I'm planning on having a skeg so some better tracking.
: Open to opinions...
: Thanks,
: Darren

Since the moment arm is larger, putting it further aft can result in a smaller skeg. Downside is the further aft it is the more likely it'll be to come out of the water in waves.
