Re: Strip: Imperfect Strongback Perfect Boat?

: My friend and I just built an internal strongback boxbeam for a Cape Ann
: Storm. It's as straight as we could possibly get it, but it's still not an
: arrow. This is my first strip boat (2 S&G CLC 17LTs), and I'm wondering if
: a perfectly straight strongback is absolutely essential.
: Can we get the kayak keel line perfect without building a table to lay the
: beam on and shimming it perfectly straight and square?
: THanks.
Cut the openings for the internal strongback a little oversize then shim them onto the strongback to get the forms straight. Will take awile, but it'll work.

- No, it's not essential.
