: I tried to post this yesterday but it somehow disappeared. I finally finished
: my kayak. I have built a few canoes before but this is the first kayak. I
: had never even been in a kayak before. I started at the end of November
: and completed it in May. I had a buddy spray it in his spray booth. I gave
: this one to my mother. She always wanted a kayak and I always wanted to
: build one. It worked out perfectly. I took it for a test drive a week and
: a half ago. It was amazing. I can’t believe how it glided through the
: water. After a while I noticed that it tracked to the right a little. I
: thought “All this work and it goes in circles!!!!!”. My legs also started
: to get a little numb so I pulled up to a sand beach and got out and
: readjusted the seat. I almost dumped it getting in and out though. I
: headed back to where I started and it tracked fine and my legs didn’t go
: numb. There were about a dozen people swimming where I launched from and
: they were all checking my kayak out. I paddled up all cool like I knew
: what I was doing. I nosed up onto the beach, sunglasses on the forehead,
: took a drink of bottled water, set the paddle down, pushed myself up out
: of the cockpit, left hand slipped and the next thing I knew I was laying
: on my side in six inches of water. I think my but is too big for the
: opening, there isn’t enough room for my thumbs and my rear end when I am
: trying to get out. So I have to make a choice. Spend the next nine months
: building a new kayak with a larger cockpit opening and drink beer while
: watching epoxy dry or spend the next 9 months getting into shape. Hmmmmmmm

Looks really nice. Btw the second boat goes together a heck of alot faster than the first one. You've already learned all the tricks.
