Yes, but there is one issue with that comparison. I believe the initial design of the Mystery was to comply with the "Fast Touring Kayak" class of the Blackburn, which was (I think) defined by max length x min width. There was an additional "Racing Kayak" class.

Now the rules have changed and the only consideration is the ratio of waterline L:W and this places the Night Heron in "Fast Sea Kayak (FSK)" and the Mystery in "High Performance Kayak (HPK)" with all the Surf Skis etc.

The change of rules doesn't change the performance of the boat, it just puts you in some fast company. With respect to the Night Heron there could be some considerable disadvantage if the Mystery has less stability. You can't paddle at top efficiency if you are nervous, though this could be a overcome with plenty of time in the boat.
