: Thank you for the thoughts so far. I pulled some glass of the boat and it
: came off very easily.
: I will try heat to protect the wood underneath. Now the big question: How do
: I keep the intact glass from being damaged as I use the heat?

: So far I have taken off the glass where there is an obvious problem--a
: blister or a actual split in the glass or some thing on that order.

: I am going to do a search on posting photos so you can see how much damage I
: have done so far.

: I feel like I have joined a club of the doomed. All I want to do now is build
: a stripper from plans and two of Tom Yost's boats and a day boat and an
: expedition boat and a real traditional SOF. And I suppose I should learn
: to roll. Too bad it takes a little over an hour to get to the ocean and I
: still have this stupid thing called a job.

: Thanks folks!!!!

I'd razor cut the glass where you want it removed so to only take off what you want taken off. The heat will soften the resin but once the heat is removed the resin will go back to it's normal hard state, as long as it's not so much heat that the wood starts to char.
