Speaking for a wooden power boat background if they are screwed down I would probably remove them just to check and see if they had leaked and would rebed them in BoatLife caulking.
Now if you can see behind them and know there are no issues.... I might not. I don't know exactly what you have there but it probably isn't necessary.
