Getting ready to start the hull stripping of my Night Heron from CLC. I know the first strip is muy importante. Am using the bead/cove set up with cove UP. I've read ( Nick's two books)the Rolling Bevel concept to take that first bead off...so the hull can eventually match the deck. BUT...a) do you do this bevel as you put on this first strip? b) do you do the rolling bevel when hull is finished and you are starting the deck? c) do you start the rolling bevel at one end or from the middle and go out both ways. Have a great little plane for this operation....just don't know WHEN or HOW to approach this. Oh, yeh, some say bevel the HULL and DECK strips...some say just bevel the HULL....anyone?????? Hmmmm...have a feeling I'm going to waste ( read "experiment/practice" here) a couple of strips before I get this ROLLING skill under control.
