: Looks nice, outside wood looks like mahogany? How heavy is it?

No scales but it's light weight. That is why I have saved this board for a special paddle(s). It is amazingly light wood. Wish I had a barn full of it.

The outer board is Mystery Wood. It was a very large piece, 3" x 13" and was used as a diving board on a boat house before I salvaged it. I have always assumed it was old growth WRC but the grain does look just like mahogany, I agree.

The house was once owned by a fellow known for putting WRC everywhere when hre remodeled them! Every house he owned (and owned quit a few in the area in the 60's) had WRC trim and siding and he often used it inside. He even built the Boathouses with it as siding and often times the framing. I never learned his supplier but he loved the stuff. So I have always assumed that it what it was.
