2-Part Polyurethane *LINK*
In Response To: Material: clearcoat (dave g)
Two-part polyurethane is close to auto clear coating and I am now a big fan of it. I have done 13 boats in Varnish and now 2 in polyurethane. The poly has high UV resistance.
My poly boats have been 6 months in the water now and it is FAR SUPERIOR to varnish in scratch resistance.
I brushed it on. It goes on thicker so hides underlying scratches and defects much better than varnish.
I'll probably never go back to varnish.
