: So, I've spent nearly a week and a half trying to get the stations perfectly
: aligned on my strongback for my Cape Ann Storm. It ceased being fun a week
: ago. Is there a point when you just say, "I've gotten this as close
: to perfect as I ever will?" Cause if there is I'm there.
Strong vertical centre-lines lines marked on the station forms back and front, fishing line, good light and your right eyeball are a big help with symmetry.
Not an internal strong-back pictured, I know, But you can see the fishing line and marked centre-lines idea. I brace fore and aft as well, as you can see.
It is really worth the time getting this part of the job as close to perfect as you can. Errors accumulate from the start. the Strong-back and station-forms are essentially the 3D blueprint of your finished boat.
Of course I don't know how much of a perfectionist you are. You might just end up with a perfect ulcer for the sake of a micron here and there.
