Thanks. That is actually why I'm looking. My theory on the boat is that my Night Heron may be quite fast for somebody above 180lbs, but that a lighter kayaker like myself doesn't get much 'benefit' in terms of a narrower waterline width, since it's essentially a box with straight sides into the water (It's still a great boat and I'll certainly do my open ocean kayaking using it as it feels really stable by now.).

The Pax 18's sides on the other hand seem to have quite an angle, which, given the overall width and length, should result in a narrower waterline width.

Now, you made me quickly step on a scale. I'm at 158lbs right now and think I probably could loose a couple more. Also, everything previously said towards getting in better shape for endurance races still applies. ;-)
