I clear coated my Night Heron using a BASF automotive clearcoat and it's on its 4th season now. Durability has been excellent and I live above 5000' so UV is an issue. I've repaired it twice, simply do a standard automotive blend within a panel technique. Applying/repairing does require the proper equipment and environment.

If one can have it done professionally for $250 I'd highly recommend going for it.
