I don't know of anything but something to keep in mind. Generally speaking... Shorter boats have to be wider to have the same stability. A longer boat can be narrower and just as stable. Shorter wider boats tend to have more hull resistance because they have more surface area and are therefore slower, sometime very noticeably slower. Like these 10 foot Rec boats.
That said, I paddle with a fellow that has a Wood Duck and it's an impressive boat for it's size. I would be a great fishing boat.
