: I've started work on a new stripper and I'm just sorting through my thoughts
: and planning. I'm no where near ready for the bulkheads but nonetheless
: I'm curious about this. I think I'd like to use the forward bulkhead as
: the footrest, in order to maximize capacity in the forward hatch. How does
: one place this bulkhead? Do you wait until the hull and deck are joined,
: then sit in the boat to find the right spot? For touring, how
: "squeezed" do you set your position? Suppose you knew ahead of
: time where the bulkhead was going to be (ie sit in the hull before the
: deck is attached), is there some tasks you can do prior to attaching the
: deck?
: thanks
I was going to recommend the same thing, padding the bulkhead, gives you a small amount of adjustment room. Downside is you then can't stretch your feet out between the pedals.
What I do is sit in the boat after using measurements from other boats to gauge the basic position of that bulkhead.
