I used a wallpaper steamer and took off the paddle and added a fitting that I could screw into a PVC end cap in a 5 foot PVC pipe. It was very easy and worked well. You do need to support the pvc pipe but I did not have any problem with it getting flat. My box was only 2" dia. pipe.
