Thanks, finally a person understanded this. Suppose it takes someone used to very narrow kayaks to appreciate the feeling

Btw, the naval architects have no idea.

I'm thinking my current project will be much like this, right now it's tippy like a racing K1 at rest and undecked yet I don't want to push it and flip it, it's wood framed but will float fairly low in the water swamped so would be a very long swim back to shore

Luckily it's overall beam is fairly easily adjustable (very unusual for a kayak).

Also getting the seat mounted lower will help alot, never padded one sitting 6" above the water before.
