: I think I eventually got things settled last night. I sort of followed Rob's
: idea. I took my 1x7 and ripped it in half. I then used 2 passes to re-saw
: the 1x3.5. Each pass cut through 2". With the blade lower down and
: less wood being cut, I was able to do this safely. Having glued the planks
: together again I now have 3 planks that are approximately 7"x14"
: x 1/4" thick. Two of these will make up the outside laminations. I
: took the 3rd plank, cut it into about 4" long pieces, and it will be
: the center lamination orientated 90° to the outside laminations.

Cool, years back I ordered 3500 linear feet of resawn hondouras mahogany for a really big runabout project I had in the shop. (yeah that's alot of wood) The boat had a double planked bottom that needed replaced and each plank was 3/8" thick. Ordering that much the cost per board ft. was so small it didn't make sense doing it myself.

I'm not sure there is that much of that wood available anywhere anymore.
