: I have had a Coho for 5 years now and do not have a skeg nor rudder. I love
: the boat. I get much better performance from it in following/quartering
: seas when it is loaded for a camping trip. I weigh 230 lbs. When I paddle
: it empty it can get pushed around a bit as it is so light.
Thanks guys
I think I'll leave the boat as she sits. I have been paddling it in Downeast Maine since I built her six years ago and for the most part she handles great. Only in the situation I describe is she a little hard to handle. I also notice that on camping trips is when she is happiest sooo! perhaps a water jug or two could solve the problem. Just fill them when needed and stow them in the proper hatch.
