Skin-on-Frame: Another Wood question and link to wood weights *LINK*
Hello again, and thanks for the responses to my question on mahogany for a SOF kayak. I found the site in the link below that has weights of wood green and dried. I was surprised that Poplar is so light. I thought it would be much heavier. I was told before that poplar would be too heavy for a SOF kayak, but I have access to some good clear S4S poplar. Maybe that would work for gunwales and stringers? Not sure about bending characteristics but I'm willing to try it.
