Towing from the usual high bow loop or end grab location rolls the kayak adversely. So, depending on the balance, speed (force) and loading, the kayak will yaw and then the high towing force will roll it over. With this setup, the more speed, the lower down on the kayak is the dynamic lift point, so the higher the turning moment with the same force (which is higher anyway).

To eliminate this, you need to set up the kayak somehow (good bridle, new fitting) so that it can be towed from a low location. Kayaks have been towed at speed using this, but water gets hard and bumpy at speed so check that the yak is not being adversely affected.
