If you set the back of the floor/seat at the usual height below the inner edge of the rib, you can still tilt the whole floor up so that the knee end is flush with or higher than the rib. I can't see how a whole 1/2" is going to make a weird angle on the seat.

She may still find the edge of the seat then digs into her legs, but playing around with this idea might yield a design that works for her.
