: OK, so I get it now. You used that piece of wire on the diagonal to tighten,
: and pull the twist out of the boat. Cool.
: As I recall, this design was based on a recovery kayak, correct?
: Since you are referring to the planing hull, do you intend to surf this in
: breaking waves, or a little more white-water?
: If you are looking for breaking surf waves, have you seen Brian Schultz's
: Rhino?

: Brian
The design is more of an tribute to dominant whitewater design, however if I increased the LOA and LWL a little bit it could be a fun recovery styled boat. The planing hull on my boat is designed more for making ferrying maneuvers in whitewater, where you want the hull to be able to plane just a bit when crossing upstream into a downstream current. This increase in relation speed can mean a LOT in making more complex maneuvers in whitewater.
I have seen Brian's Rhino, and I think its beautiful. I love the lines of that boat, and would love to build one one of these days... I'm trying to convince my girlfriend that going out to Brian's place for a boat-building class could be a great vacation for the two of us Sadly, at the present moment, she isn't buying it... Either way, I would be torn between wanting to build the Rhino or his Tyak design~
