Try a heat gun

I have been bending some 3mm ply using a heat gun lately. It will break on the tight curve but I can take the heat gun and heat it as I go and I can feel it 'loosen up' as I hold the end. I have always heard it was the heat, not the steam or water that made the wood give. I don't know but the heat gun works on ply.
